Not-So Subliminal Sexism

One day, on a break from being chained to my desk, my supervisor asked me to interview candidates for the open position. The most qualified candidate happened to a young woman of color pursuing a master's degree. The position duties were menial thus making a master's degree an over-qualification. During the final screening my process, while alone with my supervisor, my boss says, "I just don't think we can have a woman in this position. It calls for her to occasionally work late nights. Alone? I don't think so." She wasn't offered the position. I, on the otherhand, remain chained to my desk.
